Weir Plaza
Project Overview
The Weir Plaza project was a new office tower in the Knox and Henderson neighborhood of Dallas, TX, the site was the location of the original Weir’s furniture store in Dallas, TX a well known locally owned business that is iconic to Dallas. Lindamood excavated a basement that totaled 157,257 CY of rock and hauled off site 14,296 loads of material in the highly congested neighborhood. Lindamood had multiple flaggers ensuring minimal disruption to the multiple surrounding businesses and residents.
One noteworthy portion of this project was that the facade to the existing Weirs furniture store had to remain in place feet from the edge of the excavation, our team coordinated with the GC to monitor and protect the facade to ensure that our operations had no effect on the historical structure that was to be tied into the new building. This basement at its deepest point was 61 feet deep, through our extensive coordination with the GC team and the retention contractor we were able to this project per the original schedule even with 23 days of weather delays.
