Texas Tech - Jones AT&T Stadium

Project Overview

Lindamood performed the complete structural demolition of the South End Zone at Jones AT&T Stadium as part of Texas Tech University’s $240+ million stadium expansion — the largest investment in program history.

The scope required full removal of the existing end zone structure to clear the footprint for a new four-level enclosed addition and the Dustin R. Womble Football Center.

Work was carefully sequenced within an active campus and stadium environment to support Manhattan Construction’s accelerated 21-month schedule.

Key elements included:

  • Complete demolition of the existing South End Zone

  • Structural separation from the remaining stadium bowl

  • Coordinated utility disconnections

  • Controlled operations adjacent to active facilities

  • Traffic and site access management around the stadium

Demolition began in late 2022 and continued through phased construction into 2024, supporting substantial completion ahead of the 2024 football season. The project was delivered safely, on schedule, and in coordination with ongoing campus operations.
