Knox District

Project Overview

The Knox District project is a large-scale development in the bustling Knox and Henderson neighborhood of Dallas, TX, the site is the future home to three high rise towers consisting of an office complex, luxury multi-family building, and a hotel and condo tower. Lindamood's scope of work for this iconic Dallas project was demolition and excavation. We began by clearing the site of 5 existing buildings. One of the buildings, the corner of Knox Street and the Katy Trail had to have the front facade of the building to remain due to historical purposes and to be tied into the future office tower.

Lindamood engineered a method of hand separation of the facade as well as designing a shoring and stabilization system to ensure the facade remained in-tact during construction. One demolition was completed Lindamood excavated a basement that totaled 302,380 CY of rock and hauled off site 27,489 loads of material in the highly congested neighborhood. Lindamood had multiple flaggers ensuring minimal disruption to the multiple surrounding businesses and residents. This basement at its deepest point was 65 feet deep, through our extensive coordination with the GC team and the retention contractor we were able to complete the basement 2 months ahead of schedule.
