Parkland Hospital
Project Overview
When the time came to bring down the original Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Lindamood faced a challenge few demolition firms would dare to take on. The 1.3 million-square-foot campus was physically connected to active trauma centers, children’s hospitals, and research facilities—leaving zero margin for error.
Over 16 months, Lindamood delivered one of the most complex urban demolition projects in Texas history. Five interconnected buildings, an 180-foot tower, and nonstop public activity created a high-risk puzzle in the heart of the city’s Medical District. Every move required surgical precision, daily coordination, and full transparency with hospital leadership and city officials.
Demolition and asbestos abatement ran concurrently—a rare strategy at this scale—supported by one of the region’s tallest high-reach fleets and two environmental contractors. Lindamood finished two months ahead of schedule, $4 million under budget, and without a single safety incident across 128,000+ man-hours.
Environmental goals weren’t just met—they were crushed. 88% of all materials were recycled, including 63,000 cubic yards of concrete and 5,000 tons of metal. All workforce and logistics were locally sourced, delivering a major economic impact to Dallas–Fort Worth.
This project proved that even in the most constrained, high-stakes environments, demolition can be done safely, sustainably, and ahead of schedule. The Parkland Hospital project is a testament to what happens when preparation meets performance—and why Lindamood remains a trusted name in urban demolition.
Demolition completed within live medical campus — zero disruption to patient care, emergency services, or hospital operations.
180-foot tower dismantled with high-reach precision amid active labs and clinics — no impact to surrounding healthcare infrastructure.
128,352 man-hours with zero injuries, near-misses, or public incidents — safety-first execution in Texas’s densest healthcare zone.
Simultaneous abatement and demolition enabled early turnover — project completed two months ahead of schedule.
